West Beverly Hills

Don’t let the name fool you, there’s absolutely nothing Beverly Hills about this hotel- including that it is not even located in Beverly Hills. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, though. Nestled into the residential area of Westwood, this W is a social hotspot that amps up the energy as the sun sets literally. The music actually gets louder and the lights actually get dimmer, turning the lobby into an LA wonderland of super hip young people, and they’re all ready to party you have been warned. It’s fun. The W doesn’t have a concierge per se, but what is called a W Insider. The insider is a great resource to get you into that impossible to reserve restaurant or find tickets to that sold out game or show.
If you plan on spending a lot of time in the room, this would be the place to do it. This all suite hotel provides guests with incredibly spacious digs with colorful names like the Fantastic Suite, Spectacular Suite, and Wow Suite. All the rooms have remarkable views some reaching all the way to the ocean. The bathrooms are relatively small in relation to the size of the rooms, but they have raised sinks and mostly dual shower or tubs. Bliss products are typical in W hotels and are used in the hotel spa as well. In the higher suite categories, the bathrooms get much more elaborate with price. The lobby takes its design cues from the Pacific Ocean, with water features prominently displayed everywhere and running water careening down the stairs in the front of the hotel. Modern design elements litter the lobby from low L couches to elaborate art pieces on the walls.

ANdAZ West Hollywood

Once the favorite hotel of classic rockers Led Zeppelin, The Doors, The Who, and Guns N’ Roses, the Andaz West Hollywood is more chic boutique than rocker hangout. Catering to a mix of international rock enthusiasts and millennial partiers looking for fun on the Sunset Strip, the Andaz still pays homage to its rock and roll roots. But instead of allowing guitar gods to drive motorcycles through the hallways, they celebrate them with large framed prints among its modern styling and laid back service oriented vibe. Standard rooms are very spacious with sleek modern couches and chairs looking out over the Sunset Strip.
Room amenities are incredibly generous with complimentary non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, and WiFi. Sleek, white tiled bathrooms have walk in showers and are appointed with Lather bath products. Upon entering the hotel, guests are greeted with dark, hard wood floors and a very casual check in table where hotel staff hovers around computers. A waiting area with black leather couches and chairs is typically occupied in the morning when guests have access to complimentary coffee and pastries. Along the walls are giant prints and black and white photos of Hollywood stars and famous rockers.

Marina del Rey Hotel

Located directly on the largest man made harbor in the world, the Marina del Rey Hotel is a nautically themed space that caters to Silicon Beach business travelers, summer family vacationers and those just looking to party on a random Sunday. A fun and bustling spot, the hotel prides itself on its location, dining, and service. Almost every beachy themed room in the hotel features a balcony or patio many that look over the beautiful Marina down below. All rooms come with Keurig coffeemakers and free Wi-Fi.
Ask for a Marina side room so you can get a front row seat to the audacious yachts and sailboats coming through the harbor. The bathrooms come with lighted vanity mirrors, walk in showers, and Molten Brown bath products. The bold lobby is ensconced in ocean blue with a ceiling that reaches up to the third floor of the hotel. A seabird display flies overhead as weary travelers hunker down on teal couches. The lobby isn’t much of a hangout, but is an impressive welcome to the venue.
